Dr. Robert Nesta Otoo Lartey, PhD BSc BTec BEng MCMI MIET MILM, brings to RN Energies a discipline forged not in commerce alone, but in fourteen years of distinguished service within the British Army, where he stood among its foremost aircraft engineers.
He was entrusted with the safety and performance of up to twenty-five class 2 and 3 junior armed technicians, and served across Germany, Iraq, Northern Ireland, Libya, and Afghanistan. At the time of his departure from service in 2017, he stood as one of the very few, and specifically the only Ghanaian and Commonwealth soldier, to have worked upon and supervised all five major aircraft of the British Army.
In Afghanistan in 2013, he served alongside His Royal Highness Prince Harry, and in that same deployment raised upward of £10,000 in charitable funds for the Essex Ambulance Service by running some 1,500 miles over seven months. He has further raised £5,500 for the Army Benevolent Fund by cycling 1,000 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End.
His formation spans the University of South Florida's Trinity Theological Seminary, the University of South Wales, the Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering, Cape Coast Polytechnic University, and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, holding him to qualifications in theology, aircraft maintenance, aeronautical and mechanical engineering, health and safety, and oil and gas management.
It is this rigor, once demanded of military airworthiness, that Dr. Nesta now brings to bear upon the standards of RN Energies and the downstream petroleum trade it conducts on behalf of the House. He resides at present in Oxford, United Kingdom.
